Can I visit Andorra using a multiple entry Schengen visa?
I work in Germany (I am not German though,. I am Asian) and I have a multiple entry Schengen visa. Is it ok to visit Andorra for vacation with such a visa? Will I be refused entry?

It depends on the document you hold. If you hold a visa (type D) valid for "Deutschland" you cannot use that to visit other Schengen countries or Andorra. Holding a German residence permit (Aufenthaltstitel) you may use that to visit Andorra since it authorizes entry to France and/or Spain for up to 90 days in a 6 month period. There is no tourist visa requirement for Andorra itself after the country has opened its borders based on the adoption of the provisions of the European Customs Union. The concluded agreement recognizes valid visa for France or Spain. If you should have applied for a Schengen visa type C (which does not authorize to work in Germany) and it is valid for the Schengen states you may also use that to visit Andorra. It's illegal to upload copyrighted material without permission. In practice, you'll find that music companies are the strictest about copyright infringement. It doesn't matter what notices you put on the video, or whether or not you are making money, or how sad your purpose is in making the video. It's still infringement if you haven't obtained permission.

Foreign citizenship/residency, and US Taxes
Foreign citizenship/residency, and US Taxes?
Is there any sort of US citizenship downgrade that will allow me to have US bank accounts, own property in the US, act like a permanent green-card, have a US PO Box and at the same time I wouldn't have to pay taxes to the US since I wouldn't be living here or even making use the government-programs? I plan on moving to either Canada, Australia, New Zealand, UK, Ireland, France, Italy, Belgium, Austria, Monaco, Andorra, Germany, or some other EU nation sometime in the coming 5 or 6 years, so I wouldn't want to be paying taxes to the US Government. At the same time, I heard stories on how some people renounced and gave up citizenship and they were never allowed back into or onto the US. So is there any sort of way I can not have to pay taxes to the US government when I relocate once I have my European citizenship and employment worked out by 2015 to 2017? Awesome information. This helps a lot. Now I have more information to work with when I plan my relocation.

If you are a U.S. citizen living outside the U.S., you can renounce your citizenship and avoid payment of income taxes on your world-wide income. Of course the consequences of renunciation would be that you would instantly be an alien. Unless you could get a passport from another country, you would be stateless. You would also be permanently inadmissible to the U.S. under section 212(a)(10)(E). If you believe never being allowed back into the U.S. is a small price to pay for avoidance of filing form 1040 as a non-resident, then god speed. You need to investigate the tax laws a little more. U.S. citizens who live outside the U.S. have an exemption from taxes on a part of their income. It used to be the first $80,000 was not taxed, but it may have changed.

does my life story seem interesting
does my life story seem interesting?
i was born in india, in a slum. i had an awful, awful childhood. when i was 13, however, i met this boy who was 14. he was from the same place as me but he had a better life. soon, i was swept up in romance. i heard stories of women being abused, beaten, hurt by their husbands and boyfriends, but banasari was not like that. he truly loved me. when we were 17 our beautiful, lovely little girl ajamara was born. we both loved her to pieces. but my parents were so upset with me for having ajamara before i was married that they kicked me out! banasari let me stay with him and his family. we started saving all our money and when ajamara was 16 we emigrated to andorra. the day we moved in i discovered i was pregnant. we named her upala, after my sister who drownded.we loved life in anorra, but we were very very poor. ajamara, banasari and i worked very hard, but there was the baby and it was difficult. we lived in a cramped apartment, but it was filled with happiness and love. 3 years passed i was pregnant again. we named this daughter nancy. when nancy was barely 14 months old, beverly was born. neither were planned but we still loved them. we kept working, because we still were in that apartment. finally, we had enough to buy a lovely little brick house. with 3 bedrooms. ajamara was in college at this point. she lived in a dorm. she never would've hd that chance in india. ever. i had to drop out when i was 10. 5 years passed and i was 45. we didnt think we could have any more kids, but lo and behold our twins marie and jeffrey were born. now we live in a big yellow house next to a skinny brook. it is wonderful. i am 60, only the twins still live with us, but the older girls drop by every now and then. we haven't gone back to india since, it hurts to think about it.

Should Gerrard be made permanent captain now
Should Gerrard be made permanent captain now?
I am not getting carried away over 2 goals against 60 something ranked Hungary. Gerrard has been an amazing captain for Liverpool and he has never dissapointed for England, even when he is played out of position. I don't understand the logic in Ferdinand being captain. It just doesn't make any sense to me. Gerrard is a born leader. Even when Beckham relinquished the captaincy in 2006 it should have been Gerrard and not Terry who got the armband. It is just pure common sense. After saving England once again (remember Andorra?) surely it should be obvious to Capello that Gerrard should be made captain. To be honest though I don't think Capello gives a shit. He is only in charge because he won't earn 6 mill a year anywhere else for doing so little work.

Your not getting carried away? he played well tonight. But he also captained the side during the worse world cup campaign i can remember. 2 goals against rank 67th and your not getting carried away? If I am honest i wouldnt make him captain even VICE. Because a few times in the last 2 seasons he said he couldnt play an england game due to injury. fair enough until you come out 4 days later to play for lfc. Players shouldnt pick and choose the england games and it isnt a way a captain should behave either.

Conneticut legalizes same sex marriage tommorrow: So Who's next
Conneticut legalizes same sex marriage tommorrow: So Who's next?
Conneticut legalizes same sex marriage tommorrow by order of the courts. And polls show 53% of CT people support allowing same sex marriage. Norway legalizes Same sex marriage January 1st. So who's next? Within the United States........ It is legal in MA, CT, 16,000 marriages still valid in CA, and they are transferable to NY. Civil Unions are recognized in: (CA, CT, DC, HI, ME, MD, NH, NJ, OR, VT, WA). So What state are most likely to adopt same sex marriage rights next? I think VT is a big one. Maryland too. What do you think about NY? Any chance of that happening in upcoming years? Maybe NY's a long shot but we have a whole group of liberal states to work through. Do you think we tend to have more success legalizing it through the courts than we do through elections? And as for the rest of the world: Gay marriage currently legal in: Belgium Canada Netherlands Norway (2009-1-1) South Africa Spain Who's next? Civil Unions recognized in: Andorra Belgium Czech Republic Denmark Ecuador Finland France Germany Hungary (2009-1-1) Iceland Luxembourg Netherlands New Zealand Slovenia Sweden Switzerland United Kingdom Uruguay

Could countries follow Iceland and Costa Rica's example in army disbandment
Could countries follow Iceland and Costa Rica's example in army disbandment?
Both countries are leaders for peace in the fact that they have disbanded their armies for the primary fact that they have disbanded their standing armies. Costa Rica maintains a police force for policing reasons and internal security and Iceland maintains a Coast Guard and police force. Japan only maintains a peacekeeping force but no official army (though this is due to a treaty from World War 2). Other countries who have disbanded their armies (some more successfully than others) are Dominica and Grenada (Grenada was another by force). Other countries also have no standing army but these are generally from lack of need (Vatican City), never having formed one (Andorra), or other less clear reasons. So do you think that this is a good idea? Costa Rica leads a couple of peacekeeping councils and a University of Peace that is UN funded in their country. Is it the world's countries slowly disbanding their armies that is going to help with bringing peace or is this naivety on these countries' parts? As far as first world superpowers, wouldn't the slow and controlled disbandment of the world's countries' armies make sure no country gets an advantage from it? Similar to how Russia and the US ended the Cold War by destroying nuclear weapons supplies a little bit at a time. Would this work or is it impossible?

Sure, but those who beat their swords into plowshares should expect that eventually they'll find themselves plowing for those who don't.

With the exception of Iceland all countries listed have a defense pact with other countries so they dont need an Army. Japan hasnt had a military because the U.S. has provided its defense following WW2. Thats why we have military bases there. Also Coasta Rica has a defense pact with the U.S. Vatican doesnt have its own military because it is an enclave of Italy and also the Swiss army protects Vatican city.(ever see the soldiers with colorful uniforms)

I wish it were possible. Small countries like Iceland or Costa Rica can aafford to disband thier military, because if a threat did arise, other nations WITH a strong military will ensure thier security. Any country that would threaten Iceland would also be a threat to the great powers in western europe and to north america.

Those countries only did it because the know good ole Uncle Sam will protect them. We tried disarmament in the 20s and 30s, look how well that turned out. It only encouraged Germany and Japan. If the good people disarm, it doesn't mean the bad ones will. To live in peace, one must prepare for war.

Most European countries (EU) don't have a real standing army. There are a small number of uniformed personnel but not a true army that can fight a full scale war. For instance if Russia attacked Germany or the Czech Republic there would be little or no resistance. They depend on the US to defend them thus they can spend much more of their GDP on social services. So yes I think we should pull out of as much of the world as we can. Defending only what would benefit the US! Think of who get the oil that cones through the Straights of Hormuz or the Suez canal? Japan and Europe would grind to a halt in 3 days. We have enough domestic oil why are we protecting that resource? I know it would effect the world economies but why does the Europeans not contribute, China or Japan?

First: not sure where this continuing idea that Japan does not have an Army, or military, comes from. Since the early 1950s, when the Japanese upgraded their internal defense force to the Japanese Self Defense Force, and is now an actual Ministry in their government, the Japanese very much have an Army, Navy, and Air Force. Just because they don't use traditional names (which is changing), if you look at a Japanese Armored Brigade in the field, there is no doubt it is an Army unit. Go and google this issue, and you will see that the Japanese very much have a military - and one that has deployed forces to Iraq, Afghanistan, and to fight pirates in the Indian Ocean. Second: the Costa Ricans like to woof up that they don't have an Army; however, go look at the table of organization and equipment, and the order of battle of the Costa Rican national police force - it looks real close to a small, lightly equipped Army. They would not stand a real chance against a traditional Army invading, but they smell an awfully lot like an Army. Third: the Cold War was NOT ended by the US and the Soviet Union lowering their respective nuclear stockpiles. It essentially ended because the West outspent the Soviet Union and Warsaw Pact, and drove them into the economic graveyard. The Communists basically threw in the proverbial towel after being unable to keep up and their own populations saying enough was enough. It is indeed naivete to think that disbanding militaries would increase the peace. History has shown that if you have something of value, someone else will want to take that away from you. It is the same at the local level, and why we need laws and policing, and it is applicable at the international level, and why we need militaries. Those countries that have done away with their militaries, or have never had one to begin with, are those countries that don't really have anything that anyone else wants.
I need somebody to explain GoPhone to me from Cingular please-From Europe
I need somebody to explain GoPhone to me from Cingular please-From Europe..=/?
We're moving to Florida from North Spain next year... but I will still spend a lot of time here and in the neighbouring country Andorra. We have been looking at the Virgin USA phones... and they seem quite cheap to use and to call abroad and use in Europe. But it would have to be pre-pay or we would get a CrAzY bill - Calling in America is SO much more expensive than here ! 35€ everything free except for the Internet o_O ! You're looking at 75$+ in the USA. I can't work out if you CAN use the GoPhone in Europe... I don't see why you can't. I've tired E-Mailing them but I haven't got a response... & I don't understand enough to call them. I've seen this; http://www.wireless.att.com/travelguide/coverage/coverage_details.jsp?MNC=CING&CIDL=20&dropFormChoice=1.29%3B1.29%3B20&product1rate=%241.29&product2rate=%241.29&x=43&y=5 - could someone please explain.. I could recive American calls ? but not National ? Does that mean I couldn't recive calls from Spain ? just USA ? xD This GoPhone is VERY Confusing the way the right everything... !! Thanks' It say's the same thing for Spain...You may not be able to place calls to international destinations other than United States while roaming in this country. Calls can be completed within the visited country and back to the United States.

VIRGIN USA phones wont work at all outside the US. sadly gophone u can't roam internationally on them. ATT/cingular sees gophone/prepaid as an inferior thing. well i recommend u get an unlocked phone in spain i know u can get those easily (i lived there) and when u come to the US u buy a cheap gophone and get the card and put in on that phone u got in spain and when u got to andorra u get a prepaid card from their mobile operator and there.. u can have those prepaid plans without money for a long time better than the US ones.

Could armies be disbanded eventually similar to what Iceland and Costa Rica have done
Could armies be disbanded eventually similar to what Iceland and Costa Rica have done?
Both countries are leaders for peace in the fact that they have disbanded their armies for the primary fact that they have disbanded their standing armies. If Costa Rica leads peacekeeping councils because of UN funding, then Costa Rica leads peacekeeping councils because of the United States. The US funds most of the worthless UN. Also, Costa Rica and Iceland are not a target for terrorists. I do think we can pull our troops out, to save money, but I don't think disbanding them is a good idea.
6 :
It's a good idea in theory, but what happens when everyone has disbanded their army and then one country invades all the countries with no armies.
7 :
They don't need a military because they don't have anything anyone else wants. If they did have something like natural resources or a strategic location, they would need a military to keep someone else from taking over their country.

It would be good in an ideal world, but the world works under the "Realist" theory of international politics. Basically, according to the realist view, the world is anarchical (no central government, all countries are really alone), every country wants power, must survive, and thus needs an army for self-defense and take more land if necessary. It is impossible to trust your neighboring countries, because you never know if they will be your enemy tomorrow. Nor can you trust others enough to disband your army, because a more ruthless and power hungry State will take advantage of it and attack. this is specially true with world powers, who rely on their armies and military operations to hold on to their positions of power and provide a stable life for the citizens of a country. Imagine if the U.S. gets rid of the military, trying to start a weaponless peaceful world. Countries such a north Korea, Venezuela, and Cuba, which are weak States, will be among the first to attack a defenseless U.S. Another world power would then take the opportunity to achieve regional hegemony in the American continent, and we would probably be screwed. A defenseless world is just a dream, and an impossible one at that.

You have bought into Lamestream Media propaganda. Costa Rica may not have an army officially, but it does have a national police force called the Civil Guard, which is unusually heavily-armed for a so-called police force. The Civil Guard fought a number of bloody border skirmishes with the Sandinistas back in the 80s and stood up to them fairly well, so you tell me: Does that sound like a police force to you? Ditto for the Iceland situation. True Iceland doesn't have an army, but it does have an unusually large and heavily-armed coast guard, which it used in the "Cod War" with the Brits a decade ago. In both areas, the international situation has been stable for a long period of time. The states of Central America were US satellites from about 1850 until the overthrow of Somoza in the early 80s. Under these circumstances, the Costa Ricans could afford to disband their army because the Pax Americana guaranteed their borders. A similar situation prevailed in the North Atlantic where Iceland is located. The British Empire, and later NATO, and now finally the EU have guaranteed Iceland's territorial sovereignty. Thus, no local army was required. In all of these cases however, the dominant state and/or alliance most certainly did require an army, as well as a navy and an air force, to ensure compliance with it's hegemony.

Do you still view England as a bad team
Do you still view England as a bad team?
It seems whenever I bring up England, the general response is what needs to be done, what needs to be changed, what players need to be called up, what players need to be benched etc. Fair enough, post-Germany, England were pretty bad, especially with the whole Euro 2008 qualifying saga. But since Capello took over, have they really been that bad? Let's look at their results: 2-1 over Switzerland 0-1 to France 2-0 over USA 3-0 over Trinidad and Tobago 2-2 with Czech Republic 2-0 over Andorra 4-1 over Croatia So out of 7 games, we've won five and only lost one...to France. Is this really the work of an awful team? I'm not saying England are back to their best or that they're set for a great World Cup 2010 run, but I think it's unfair to still treat England like the joke they were in 2007.

Can anyone suggest a video camcorder, under £150 that is suitable for a ski trip as well as general use
Can anyone suggest a video camcorder, under £150 that is suitable for a ski trip as well as general use?
I am going skiing in Andorra in February and I am looking for a compact, cheap video camera that would be suitable for on piste shooting as well as more general use. I am not interested in 'helmet-cam' type products. The closest thing i have found to what I am looking for is the Flip UltraHD, however this has severe judering when you move and is probably not going to work when skiing. Any advice would be much appreciated. Please remember that I have a 'Student budget' of £150 or maybe just a bit over, definately less than £200. Thank you for any help you can give! The most important thing is image stabilisation, ability to deal with glare and low light levels, and clear crisp colours. in that order. I just re-read my post, and i don't think that i put enough emphasis on the importance of stability settings, as primarily this camera will be for a ski trip. Anybody got any other suggestions given this?

I just re-read my post, and i don't think that i put enough emphasis on the importance of stability settings, as primarily this camera will be for a ski trip. Anybody got any other suggestions given this?

From my description do you think that I have Aspergers Syndrome
From my description do you think that I have Aspergers Syndrome?
I am a 30 year old man, who is living in the UK and works as a carer. All my life I have struggled in social situations. Eg: struggle with eye contact, appropriate body language, empathising with others. Tried to research body language but its tough. Struggle for the correct responses and most interactions fail, this has led to alcoholism and depression, although ive stopped drinking for 8 months now. It just made things easier somehow:-(. Just can't connect with people and feel saddened when Im talking to people and it all starts to go wrong. If im sat around with just a small group of people I feel extreme anxiety. For years I was obsessed with cycling, cycling to Poland, Spain, Andorra, France, Germany. It was my subject that I liked to talk about. I thought that If I did the long distance stuff people would like me eg; think im interesting facinating person. I was wrong, people did'nt care this shocked me. I tried to learn polish, but then brought it up and used it with my polish work colleagues. People thought I was being arrogant, I thought doing this would make people like me and think Im intelligent. Sometimes things are just so, so difficult. I feel like a human tragedy not able to connect, alone and have thought about killing myself in the past. At the moment I want to cry. Im afraid of going to the GP because I believe he will not truely listen to me.

You've said nothing that rules it out. But that doesn't make it a solid yes, either. I wasn't diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome until I was 48. You seem to be having enough life issues that getting further professional advice would seem appropriate in any case. Yes, your GP is the first step*. Perhaps also check with the National Autistic Society website, to see if their database lists particular resources in your area. *Even if not convinced over the Asperger's possibility, (and its not the GP's job to decide yes or no) I'd suggest that they should be able to see enough concern and distress to warrant referral for further assessment anyway.

Do we need a(n) international transformation? I think we do
Do we need a(n) international transformation? I think we do.?
Do we need a(n) international transformation? I think we do. There are too many nations in this world and too many large nation, and the not so large nations to the largest nations are to large and powerful. Andorra proves my point that large nations are unnecessary. Andorrans, and Spaniards and French who know of your neighbour I speak of can speak about it. Most people who know nothing about Andorra probably have no clue it exists. And its a great place to hide your money. They've no taxes and universal healthcare available to citizens and residents. A large nation could never do that. they pose no threat to the world and the world obviously poses no threat to them, Andorra has existed for over 700 years in its present state. And Andorra is also one of the several great defenses for monarchy being the greatest form of government. Blame Rome for the current quagmire the world is in, that of being large powerful nations and empires being a good thing. T'aint so! The world wars and cold wars prove this. The large nations need to go! We are a world of several large nations and a few that enforce their will on the rest and want it all for themselves. We need to instead be a world of millions of smaller nations. I guess certain cities like London, Tokyo, and Mexico City will have to be nations. With freedom of movement of people and capital. Every political system will be allowed to flourish. Monarchy, anarchy, Communism of every variety, socialism of every variety, will all flourish. Not every political system will work for or be to the liking of every person. And that can never be expected. If on nation is not to your liking, move to one that is. Every nation will flourish because everyone who lives there will make it so. In our current world, the economic systems of capitalism and communism do not work, and of course, that is why neither capitalism nor communism truly exist, neither can truly exist. Let places like Cuba and North Korea make communism work in such a world and they would, splendidly. And if you don't like it, there is a whole world and many parts of it that you will like. And the threat of war will be minimized since no nation would be large or powerful enough to pose a threat, and when one did, it would be more easily dealt with. Or just let them have their tiny piece of the world, and sooner or later their aggressiveness will go out of style. Utopia would exist. If a place isn't a utopia more to one that is, since utopia is subjective. Though, how do we get to this world. We will probably have to put up with squabbling arrogant giants before we reach it. The squabbling giants will be annoying nuisances. Even the largest superpowers like the US and the UK which has mellowed out lately, control a still small minority of the world, they just make the loudest noise. Btw, how do I ad a photo to my profile?

I agree your idea of a world with a lot of small nations because it would give people more freedom in choosing what kind of government they want most. I think that as time goes on, either large nations will start to break up or they will have a lot less influence than they do now. People identify with nations a lot more when there's a lot of international strife in the world because they see them as a source of strength, but I don't think nations as they exist today will last forever. Anyway... I think you can add a photo by getting a yahoo 360 account and uploading photos into it.

A notebook bought in Andorra will still work in the US but you have to use an adapter and voltage converter. Electricity plug is type C or F, voltage is 230 V at 50 Hz. frequency. You will also notice a different notebook keyboard layout.

what do you think is the main idea in this short paragraph?
one night in the seventies, friends and I, probably stoned, created a travel agency of the mind. We'd offer package deals to tiny countries (Andorra, San Marino, Fiji), or to countries colored green on the globe, or we'd organize terrorism tours to the sites of bombings, kidnappings and assassinations. (I used to walk a version of that in Washington on my way to work.) We would call our agency Book in Haste, Repent at Leisure. just aliitle lost if someone can help me i would appreciate it thanks...

(I used to walk a version of that in Washington on my way to work.) We would call our agency Book in Haste, Repent at Leisure. just aliitle lost if someone can help me i would appreciate it thanks...

Demographics of Andorra, what is problem
Demographics of Andorra, what is problem?
In Andorra the sex ratio at birth is normal (106-107 boys/100 girls) but very high males in working group (108 men/100 women compared with 101-102 men/100 women in Western Europe) and especially at age over 65 (>90 men/100men compared 75men/100men in Western Europe). Sorry, i type mistake (>90 men/100 women compared 75men/100 women in Western Europe)

I personally don't see a problem. There are more men than usual, compared to women - and this may mean population growth is slower as a result, but this shouldn't be a major problem. However, the fact that the m/f ratio is so high in the senior-citizen population, may indicate that either a) women are dying at a high rate than in other countries in the area, or b) men are living much longer on the average there. It would be very interesting to find out which of these two alternatives is the case!!

Being a Chalet Girl is hard work, so don't go out there thinking it's going to be a breeze. Fussy punters, long hours and occasionally less than brilliant resources are all in a day's work. However, a few tips from hardened ex-chalet girls will make your life a little easier... Most guests only stay for a week. It is therefore advisable to get a menu plan for the whole week (six days with one day off) and use it week in, week out. Doing this will usually ensure that it's easier to stick to your budget. As weeks go by you will find the routine gives you more time to ski, and with the turnover of guests no one is going to know that you don't vary your menus. NB saying that, always have a second week's menu just in case someone sticks around for another week. You usually do a shop once a week, make sure you buy everything you need in one go. Plan your list - it saves you time when you are at the supermarket and it'll save you having to pay inflated prices back at the resort. 'Bits' you've forgotton can often blow your budget. Plan your menu carefully. Don't cook a hot starter, maincourse and desert. Before you know it you'll be spending twice the amount of time cooking and then run out of room in the (often tiny) kitchen anyway. Often chalet girls are asked to offer guests dips and nibbles before dinner. Rather than having to make a different dip each night there are some great dry packs that contain things like black pepper and lemon which can be added to mayonnaise to make an instant dip. It's perfect with carrots and crisps and will save you time and give your guests variety. And buy them before you go, they're a life saver! On shopping day, your fridge is usually overloaded. If there's not enough room for everything, window ledges make great alternatives - the snow outside stops food going off. Banoffi pie is a surefire winner. Fact. The only real pain is watching the tins for hours to make sure you have enough water covering them (and be warned, if the water level drops too low you'ill redecorate your kitchen in toffee!). Use the biggest saucepan you can find and make five or six tins at once. You only need one tin per pie and it means for the next six weeks you cut the prep time in half. Unfortunately, you won't earn much money out there (but you're not doing this to make your millions, right?), and more often than not you're skint on your day off - good tips the week before excepted. If you have a local take away pizza place, make an extra banoffi pie and deliver to the guys that work there. Chances are you'ill be guaranteed a free pizza on your day off (I worked in Meribel and it worked for me!).

need an official copy of my clean police record to work in andorra?
I currently live in spain and cant easily make my way to the local sheriffs department in the US where Im from to obtain an official copy of my clean police record. This winter i would like to work in andorra. To work in Andorra an official police record is absolutely necessary. I have family that still lives in the US where I grew up. Could they somehow get a copy for me....or am i going to have to go through a lawyer or embassy?

Criminal records are public. Just send someone over to local PD to get a copy and send it to you. There's a minimal fee. (In my county it's $3.)
2 :
contact the police department where you were arrested
